Group Therapy Room Layout Overview

Written by Kate Haznaw (LCSW/LICSW)

The group therapy room is designed to foster a collaborative and supportive environment for all participants. Upon entering, you will notice several key areas that facilitate the therapy process:

  • Curriculum Panel: This area displays the current session's curriculum, activities, and materials. It serves as a guide for facilitators and is not visible to clients. The loaded curriculum for your group session in Teleo is found in the right-hand side (RHS) panel.

  • Center Area: The center of your screen has your client videos in talk mode. If you open an activity, all videos will move to the left-hand side of the screen, and the activity will open in the center.

  • Reaction Bar: Visible to all members, the reaction bar allows both facilitators and clients to react with emojis, colors, or raise their hand.

  • Group Chat: The group chat is located in the bottom left-hand side of your screen. You can disable it at any time or chat directly from the care team to an individual participant.

  • Clinician Control Panel: The Clinician Control Panel is minimized at the bottom of the screen and pops up when you hover your cursor near the bottom of your screen. It's only visible to clinicians. It allows you to:

    • Admit clients in session

    • Ask for help

    • Launch activities from the activity bank

Together, these areas create a structured yet flexible environment that supports effective group therapy sessions.
